Tourism Regulatory Authority

Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA) is a corporate body established under section 4 of the Tourism Act No.28 of 2011 and is mandated to regulate the tourism sector in Kenya. This entails developing regulations, standards and guidelines that are necessary to ensure an all-round quality service delivery in the tourism sector. 

Western Circuit Tourism Association

Western Circuit Tourism Association (WCTA) is a Non-profit making organization, which was established in the year 2014 by Tourism stakeholders in the Western Kenya circuit. WCTA is a big partnership whose aim is to show case the tourism potential of the western Kenya Circuit and also to provide a Market opportunity to members in the line of working out their Market Plan and Marketing their products and services. 

Uganda Community Tourism Association (UCOTA)

The Uganda Community Tourism Association (UCOTA) was established in July 1998 to empower local communities in sustainable development through small-scale tourism and handcraft enterprises, also known as community tourism. Community tourism aims to involve local people in the planning, decision-making and implementation of tourism development activities. This form of tourism assures that the benefits stay as much as possible in the local community.

Tanzania Association of Cultural Tourism Organizers (TACTO)

It is an independent, legally constituted, non-government organization with its registered office in Arusha, Tanzania. The association fosters working relationships with any or all organizations or group of persons dealing with cultural tourism or similar activities in Tanzania or elsewhere. It aims at empowering the productive poor to transform the lives of their families through the development of sustainable micro-enterprises through developing cultural tourism products for sale to tourists.

The Kenya Community Based Tourism Network (KECOBAT) network was launched in August 2003 as a membership umbrella organization representing the interest of Community Based Tourism (CBT) organizations in Kenya.

It aims to facilitate information sharing; delivering appropriate technical support and advisory services; mediating and lobbying their interests to government and other relevant institutions and thereby integrating community concerns into national tourism.
